Certainly sounds like some formula related to Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and we start cudgeling our brains ,engulfed by a plethora of comprehensions. But to your surprise ,as you go through the blog, you would discover that it is not what it ought to be.This relation is rather linked with, not any classroom subject but with life's reality and the reality we all know is very sad and depressing and the worse part is that we are helpless. Am I sounding intriguing or just the contrary? Hold your breath I will soon reveal the meaning as well as the significance of this relation i.e.,
M+M+M=M.
What grieves us all when we look around? This is a very generic question but considerably of high concern. Different people have different answers as this is an introspective question and is based on individual observation and calculation.Though it's a practical impossibility to reach everybody's opinion yet I firmly believe that one thing which grieves us all is the attitude and outlook of today's YOUTH.Why is it so?
Three things that have substantially and extensively consumed our today's Youth are :
1} MOBILE PHONES.
2} MOTOR BIKES.
& 3} MAIDEN/MISS.
It does not surprise us anymore when we see school goers, let alone those who go to colleges, with mobile phones in their hands. But what surprises us is the role of parents in this context and their contribution towards an extravagant phone in their son or daughter's hand. Due to the advent of Westernisation people's perspective on life have changed but that change has, with it, brought a bad influence which has infected almost all of us. Only on a blessed few the impingement has been negligible and they are able to escape this modern virus. Mobile phones, also popularly known as Cell phones have become the order of the day without which it is near impossible for us to step out beyond the threshold of the door.We do understand the importance of this modern means of communication but who would explain to us the consequences of the reckless use of this useful electronic device. Parents, neither restrain their kids from buying high priced cell phones nor keep a check on the usage of phones, rather they themselves buy their children costly handsets because to have an expensive phone is in vogue and it reflects the status of the family. Not to have a phone is considered ancient and the one who does not have it is a Neanderthal Even if somebody hails from a poor family he would care not even an iota to pester his parents to buy him an expensive mobile phone though it might cost his parents an arm and a leg. His only concern is to not feel any less amidst his affluent friends. The situation is further aggravated by the insensitive and thoughtless use of the phone 24/7 anywhere and everywhere-- classroom, washroom, hospital, conference hall and where not. So the mobile phone has infused a ''NEW LIFE" into the young generation which would, sooner or later, be a cause of its doom. You are considered a man of distinguished quality amongst your friends if you have a motorbike and if you can ride it really fast. Friends clap at your bike stunts; their eyes pop out, mouth wide open and they drool over your acts. But do they think of ensuing consequences which are invariably fatal? I would like to add here the statistics of motorbike accidents:
Motorcycle Accident Injuries and Fatalities
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 5,290 motorbike riders were killed in 2008 during motorbike accidents. This represents a 2% increase from 2007. Approximately 96,000 motorcycle drivers were injured in 2008.
Motorcycle Involvement in Accidents
- *Approximately 47% of all fatal motorcycle accidents involved a collision with another motor vehicle
- *During two-vehicle accidents, 77% of motorcycles were struck in the front while only 7% were hit from behind
- *Motorcycles are substantially more likely than other vehicles to be involved in a fatal accident involving a collision 8with a stationary object – 25% for motorcycles, 19% for cars, 14% for small trucks, 4% for large trucks
- *In 41% of the 2,387 two-vehicle fatal accidents involving motorcycles, the other vehicle turned left into the motorcycle
- *35% of motorcycle drivers killed in motorcycle accidents were speeding, compared to 23% of car drivers in fatal auto accidents
- *Fatal motorcycle accidents are more likely to be alcohol-related than any other type of fatal motor vehicle accident – 29% of fatal motorcycle accidents involved a driver with a BAC over .08 compared to 23% of fatal auto accidents, 23% of accidents involving small trucks, and 2% of accidents involving large trucks
- *43% of motorcyclists involved in single-vehicle fatal accidents had a BAC over .08
Youngsters are well aware of all these accidents but turn a deaf ear. lest their reputation earned would mingle with dust.So they continue their passion with much stubbornness and meet with their fate.
Last but not the least the reason which could bring an entire generation to a deadlock is Maiden or girl.Too strong a statement but its true. There is no dearth of example to proof this. History bore witness to many such incidents and history may be repeated again.
In relation to present younger generation ,a young boy without a girl is the talk of the town and he is always made fun of for not having a girlfriend.Even amongst your friends who have girlfriends, you will be mocked at if you don't have one. This is the present scenario without many of us realizing that sometimes having a girl can have an adverse effect. The time invested in making your girlfriend happy and feeling blissful which is mostly momentary, if were utilized in a productive way could have fetched you more in many aspects and secured your future. I always feel happy for those who understand this and give primary importance to one's career and for whom the love of parents gain utmost significance over love of a girlfriend who can breach his trust and forsake him any moment. Can anyone have sanguine expectations from anybody, let alone one's girlfriend? The answer is always a NO. We must remember that we all are individuals and can in no way bank upon anybody when it comes to securing our future."WE OURSELVES ARE THE MASTERS OF OUR SOUL AND THE ARCHITECT OF OUR DESTINY". If you have made it so far then you can obviously draw a conclusion why have I titled my blog as :
M+M+M=M.
THIS RELATION SHOWS THAT
MOBILE PHONES+MOTORBIKES+MAIDEN=MASSACRE
i.e., If one fails to balance all these three then his destruction is imminent. Since one fails to strike a balance between the ideal and the practical ,one meets with disappointment and failure. Out of the considerable chunk a handful comprehend this reality of life and become successful without falling prey to the stings of M+M+M...............

Kuldeep,
ReplyDeleteRefreshingly new style of writing......
Nice stuff, but are you suggesting that the fun element be removed.?
Mobiles, Mobikes & Maidens are just that!
Don't get caught in a dark alley, over the next few days!
Cheers..
Sir,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your thoughtful comment.
I am not for a moment suggesting to remove the fun element rather trying to put it across to the readers that its time we brought a balance among the three i.e.,Mobiles. Mobikes and Maidens.
Excess of everything is bad.It might sound as a cliche but it best justifies the statement.
And thanks once again sir for warning me against walking in a dark alley, over the next few days!!!!i owe you my life.......
Cheers.
Cheers for that Kuldeep
ReplyDeleteInteresting piece of writing , most facinating ofcourse is the data part which shows your efforts to prove your point.
I guess you should have found some M name for internat too since it also has enormous influence on us...
Cheers KD. I got agree with u. Before the invention of these gadgets life was there. People use u hv arranged marriages.
